Code of Conduct Agreement
TTFC ensures that each member gets both a lanyard and at least one type of membership badge. Your proof of membership is defined as your current year badge issued to you by the convention, and must be clearly visibly displayed at all times during our event. Event staff can request to see proof of membership at any time. Event staff may deny you access to events or event space if you do not have proof of membership. All TTFC-issued badges remain the property of TTFC for the duration of the convention and must be surrendered upon request. Tails & Tornadoes Fur Con reserves the right to deny entry to the event for any reason. TTFC is not responsible for lost or misplaced badges.

As previously mentioned, all attendees (in and out of costume) are required to have their con badge clearly visible at all times while in event space. The event badge must not be obscured by custom badges, and must remain outward facing so the name is visible. Occasionally the hotel staff will ask for costumers to “lift your head” when ordering food, requesting services or communicating with hotel staff. Please be courteous when interacting with hotel staff and do as they request. If you have a conflict with a hotel staff member, please remove yourself from the situation and seek a TTFC staff member for assistance. DO NOT antagonize the hotel staff—they are our friends and allies.
Any member entering the adult programming area must present a valid government-issued photo ID in addition to current year proof of membership. By entering the adult programming area, you agree to “lift your head” for an identification check when requested by hotel or TTFC staff, and to abide by the rules for behavior for adult events which will be posted in the adult programming area.
Minor Attendance Policy
If you will be age 16 or 17 on or before August 30th, 2019 you may attend Tails & Tornadoes Fur Con without a parent or guardian, provided that the parent(s) or guardian completes both the Parental Consent form and the Permission to Travel form, both of which are located directly below this section. Both of these documents must by signed by the minor’s parent(s) or legal guardian and notarized by a public notary. Minors aged 16 and 17 upon receiving their badge who do not meet the above criteria may still register and attend, but must registered with and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times in all official convention spaces. Parent(s) or guardian who is attending with a minor will be required to sign up for an attendee membership, but will not be charged to attend the event. Parent(s) or guardian will be held responsible for damage and/or issues caused by their minors.

Parent(s) or guardian who is attending with a minor will be required to sign up for an attendee membership, but will not be charged to attend the event. Parent(s) or guardian will be held responsible for damage or issues cause by their children.”
As per our policy, the staff has decided not to allow ANY media coverage at the event without PRIOR approval. Attendees purchasing a membership agree not to act as media agents in any way, shape, or form while attending our event. Making photographic, audio, or video recordings of any convention event for investigative or commercial purposes is strictly forbidden.
Conduct, Behavior and Dress
Harassment is defined as any behavior that alarms or intentionally annoys another person. This includes making any unwanted physical contact, following someone around a public area without a legitimate reason, or threatening to physically attack someone. Please remember that if you approach someone and they tell you “no” or to leave them alone, your business with them is done. If you do not leave them alone as they have requested, your actions may be grounds for a complaint of harassment. If you feel that you are being harassed, or you have been assaulted, please report the matter immediately to event staff. This is also the place to note that COSTUME IS NOT CONSENT. Even if someone is dressed in an alluring or provocative manner, it is NOT an implied invitation to touch, grab, or make inappropriate or unwelcome comments.
Remember that while you are at the Convention, you are not only here to enjoy the furry fandom, but you also serve to represent it – as such, the following behaviors are prohibited in any public or meeting spaces of the host venue:
- Public displays of affection beyond hugging and tasteful scritching.
- Excessively loud volumes, whether you are being personally boisterous or playing loud music over a portable music system of any kind.
- Failure to wear attire appropriate to a public setting, to include leggings, tops, and footwear, or failure to wear attire of any kind. Additionally, tasteful and appropriate swimwear must be worn while using the host venue’s pool and hot tub.
- Anything which is vulgar, offensive, or blatantly provocative hateful or adult in nature. This includes, but is not limited to – badges, visible tattoos, clothing, signs, or other forms of visible media.
- Convention attendees must maintain a reasonable level of hygiene. We understand that fursuits are hot and people sweat, but please keep in mind that if you do not address your musk it may make other attendees uncomfortable.
Prop weapons (such as daggers, swords, whips or chains) and prop firearms are acceptable provided they have been peace bonded such that they clearly cannot be drawn. Water guns and Silly String type products of any kind are NOT acceptable due to the potential for damage to costumes, hotel property, etc. “If it’s drawn, you’re gone.” Any drawing, open carry (of firearms), displaying, brandishing, or making any threatening gesture with any weapon or firearm, both real and replica, shall be cause for immediate expulsion from the event. The only exception to this shall be at a prearranged demonstration or event with the permission of the event coordinators.
As a convention attendee, you are a guest of the hotel and must abide by the hotel’s rules and policies whenever you are on the premises. However, if you are unsure if something is allowed, Hotel Front Desk will be able to assist you. If you are expelled from the hotel for violation of their rules, you immediately forfeit your event membership and must surrender your proof of membership. You are responsible for any damage you cause to hotel property. The event space and public spaces of the hotel may not be used as sleeping areas.
The following behaviors are also prohibited in any public area for your own safety and comfort and that of those around you:
- Running and jogging is a safety concern for yourself and others, and is not permitted in the host venue.
- Engaging in behavior which endangers life or property (including but not limited to such acts as pulling fire alarms or creating other hazardous situations).
- Flying remote controlled aircraft in or around the venue is forbidden.
- Smoking or Vaping in non-designated areas. The host venue has designated areas where smoking and vaping is permitted, and attendees of the Convention are required to utilize these areas.
Do not attach anything to the host venue’s walls, elevators, or doors. For that matter, do not deface or mark on the host venue’s surfaces.
If an emergency situation should occur, please follow directions from convention staff and the staff of the host venue, or from any law enforcement or emergency services present.
